The mission of Velo Paso Bicycle-Pedestrian Coalition is to make active transportation accessible for everyone in the Paso del Norte region through education and outreach. Velo Paso works toward a Paso del Norte region where active mobility is safe, easy, and an economical means of transportation and recreation for everyone. We will do this through education programs that feature safety training, 'walkshops', bicycle skills courses, urban justice, public awareness, and mobility access campaigns to build support for bike- and pedestrian-friendly infrastructure and culture. By working with public and private partners, Velo Paso contributes to increasing physical activity levels, improving air quality, reducing traffic congestion, increasing neighborhood value, lowering health costs, and supporting safe and healthy communities in the region. We nurture community engagement and work to improve conditions for active transportation in the Paso del Norte region. Though we come from many different fields and backgrounds, our members share one thing in common: a desire to give a voice to the voiceless and to create alternative transportation options that will make our border region an exemplary model to the world. Velo Paso Bicycle-Pedestrian Coalition is a membership-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
