Our Mission at Velo Paso Bicycle-Pedestrian Coalition

The mission of Velo Paso Bicycle-Pedestrian Coalition is to make active transportation accessible for everyone in the Paso del Norte region through education and outreach.
Velo Paso envisions a binational region where active mobility is safe, easy, and an economical means of transportation and recreation for people of all ages and abilities.
We provide education and consultative services that feature safety training, walking tours, bicycle skills courses, urban justice, public awareness, and mobility access campaigns to build support for bicycle and and pedestrian-friendly infrastructure and culture.
By working with public and private partners, Velo Paso contributes to increasing physical activity levels, improving air quality, reducing traffic congestion, increasing neighborhood value, lowering healthcare costs, and supporting safe and healthy communities in the region.
We uphold a community engagement process and advocate to improve conditions for active transportation in the border land region. Though we come from many different fields and backgrounds, our members share common values and a desire to elevate the right to safe mobility for all ages and abilities, to seek out increased land-use opportunities for a regionally active transportation network, and to actualize the implementation of a world-class binational transportation system. Velo Paso Bicycle-Pedestrian Coalition is a membership-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
